Synopsis: Based on a manga, Moonlight Whispers is about a teenage romance between a seemingly innocent girl and boy. However, with closer examination the relationship develops a perverse, sadomasochistic and psychological dynamic. In his feature debut, director Akihiko Shiota uses a careful, gentle approach that makes the movie’s twists and turns all the more effective.
